Mission Statement

The Olympic Development Program (ODP) is a national program which is designed to identify and develop talented, committed youth soccer players to represent their state, region, and country in soccer competitions. It is also intended to aid in the preparing and showcasing of the players as student/athletes for exposure into collegiate soccer programs.

Program Overview

The US Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program was introduced to help identify potential national team youth players through an organized series of trials which begins at the local level, progresses through the state, region and finally the national level. Since 1977 the program has served as a means of development as the players identified are brought together for training and prepared for interstate, interregional and international competitions. Training and playing with those of equal or greater ability is a tremendous teaching tool. The higher up the ladder a player progresses, the more intense the training and playing become. The US Youth Soccer ODP does provide a systematic method that allows players to advance as far as their abilities allow. It serves as a form of self-evaluation in a system that is recognized by coaches at all levels.

ODP State Camp - June 17th-19th - Aberdeen

The Olympic Development Program has had a great year and in response to the events that have already taken place for the players in the program we are offering a state camp. It is open to all players in the Dakotas that want to learn and play the beautiful game under the direction of some of the best coaches we have in the Dakotas. This camp is dedicated to enhancing a player’s soccer skill and also to creating leadership, teamwork, and problem solving abilities.

While at the camp the players will be supervised by parent chaperones and coaches. We are excited about providing this opportunity to our players in the Dakotas and hope that many of you will be able to take advantage of it. Space is limited, so please register early and secure your spot in camp today.
